South African Reserve Bank introduces new bank notes and coins.
The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) has officially launched new bank notes and coins.
The upgraded notes and coins will be having new enhanced security features and new designs celebrating the heritage of South Africa.
According to the central bank, they added the South African flag, the preamble to the constitution in micro-lettering, and the big five depicted as a family. The deep ecology theme of the 4th decimal coin series celebrates interconnectedness with other living organisms.
Another notable feature on the notes is the colouring which is slightly deeper especially on the R50 notes.
